Transistors

Transistors are semiconductor that control current flow. They have three contact and a small current at one contact can control a much larger current flowing through the other two contacts. In practice, this means you can use transistor as switches and amplifiers.

There are two main types of transistors, Bipolar and Field Effect.

I just googled the atomic model for iron. There are lots of great sites, here's just one: http://www.chemicalelements.com/elements/fe.html. Good luck.

You mean typos, not types. I agree there is a ton of information on this site, it's just choppy. I also agree someone who's primary language is English should proofread and correct all typos. (Not complaining, just stating a fact.) I have learned so much from this site, however, don't feel comfortable referring others here with so many choppy sentences.

great site, very informative... there seems to me a ton of types though. this tends to make some things confusing. the site should be proofread.

Gotta love those with no job and too much time on their hands. By the way, Anonymous 158, I'll take a #1 with cheese, and TWO packets of Ketchup. Also, sulphur is what is on a match tip. Septic tanks emit methane. It's OK though. You'll learn that when you get to high school, if you don't drop out first. Then again, I'm not sure if they teach chemistry in juvenile hall. It's kind of pointless. After all, for someone who couldn't determine right form wrong, Avogadro's number would be more than they could comprehend. Good luck in life, you'll probably need it. Now I know why I have to pay so much in taxes. I'm getting real tired of paying to support morons.

the word is spelt "Sulphur" for god's sake, whatever the septic tanks try to force on us.

Sulfur I think. Anyone?

Which one of these...Silicon, Phosphorus, Sulfur, Boron, is least likely to be used in semiconductors?
